For the past two days, demonstrations have been multiplying on the Senegalese national territory. The localities are passing on the torch. Today, we are all agreed that this is no longer just a legal issue, but the struggle of a people who have finally decided to cry out their anger after many frustrations and feelings of spoliation repressed. The gas was too compressed in the barrel, it exploded.
These crowds shouting their bitterness in the streets have resolutely begun their divorce procedure with a masked dictatorial regime, embodied by leaders without empathy.
We are facing a government that is not ready to reoffend. In spite of the deaths, the President of the Republic is clammed in his silence. One can legitimately read contempt and arrogance behind this attitude.
The machine is launched and it is a manhunt. The nerves are recruited to beat up the demonstrators and all the supporters of Ousmane Sonko are perfect scapegoats on whom the responsibility for the violence will be laid.
This machine also plans to manipulate international opinion. The government, through the voice of its Interior Minister Mr. Antoine Félix Diome, in addressing the international community, has pointed the finger at the demonstrators with a violent, heavy and criminally charged jargon. The expressions used speak for themselves: "conspiracy against the State, terrorism, insurrection, organized crime".
His speech served to fuel the fire since he clearly intended to tarnish the image of these demonstrators who are only claiming their freedom and the recognition of their dignity.
When speaking to the Senegalese, he used Wolof to give moral lessons to those he has already called terrorists. Manipulative way to go!
We hold the international community as a witness to this process of manipulation of opinion by the state. In this gigantic trick of illusionism, the liars are in the palace and the heroes of truth and justice are imprisoned.
Let us continue to fight, to lead this struggle by all means, especially in unity, because the Senegalese people must deny historically that Teranga does not rhyme with passivity and indifference. We must prove to its arsonists that we are not up to get bored after three days.
What proves the insensitivity and coldness of the clown at the head of the ship is that the last publication on his Instagram account was to say that he chaired yesterday a council of ministers on the Great Green Wall. If this is not disdain, what is it then?
ECOWAS and the AU should condemn this silence and wake up this kinglet who has taken the wine of foolishness. International institutions are expected to condemn with the ultimate energy the violations of human rights that are taking place in our territory.
If there are still people who are being listened to by Macky SALL, the advice to give him is to understand that accepting dialogue and consensus is not a defeat. Given also the level of disintegration of the trust of the people, he could have the greatness to resign. Which I do not hope for, given the way he ignores the fire in his own house.
France is still in the Senegalese's sights and is accused of being behind this machine. Whether these remarks are well-founded or not, any foreign power would benefit from bringing the Senegalese government back to order and respecting the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of the country. Let us wash our dirty laundry with our soaps and basins.
